Extensions and loft conversions
New circuits sized for the actual load, board capacity checked before work starts, and the existing installation tested so you are not connecting new work to a fault you have not found yet.
Rewires, fuse boards and new circuits
Rewiring, new fuse boards and new circuits for homes and small business premises. Planned rather than patched, fitted around the other trades where there are any, and tested and certified on completion.

Almost every expensive electrical problem starts as a cheap decision made at first fix. A circuit that was never going to carry the load. A board with no spare ways in a house that was always going to get an extension. Sockets positioned before anyone asked where the furniture goes.
Installation work is where that gets decided, which is why we spend time on it before anyone picks up a drill. We walk the drawings with you, agree accessory positions on the wall in pencil, calculate the load properly rather than assuming, and check the incoming supply can carry what you are planning.
Full and partial rewires, extensions and loft conversions, kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, new fuse boards and consumer units, additional circuits, recessed downlighters, garden lighting and supplies to garden rooms, sheds and outbuildings.
Everything is designed and installed to BS 7671, currently the 18th Edition with Amendment 2. For dwellings we notify the work under Part P of the Building Regulations through our NICEIC registration, which avoids a separate building control application and the fee that comes with it.
On most projects we are one of several trades on site. We attend site meetings, work to the programme, and sequence first fix so the plasterer is not held up and second fix so we are not fitting accessories into wet paint.
On a refurbishment the programme usually slips somewhere. Where it does, the work is resequenced rather than left waiting. Coming back at the right point in someone else's programme is most of the job on a kitchen or an extension.
You receive an Electrical Installation Certificate with full schedules of test results, a circuit schedule for the board, and the Part P compliance certificate where the work is notifiable. That is what a buyer's solicitor, your insurer or the next electrician will ask for, and it is far easier to produce as the work goes in than to reconstruct afterwards.
We work out what the existing supply and board will carry before anything is ordered.
Cable routes agreed with you and the other trades before a single wall is chased.
Tested, certified and notified under Part P as soon as the work is finished.
Occupied homes are rewired regularly by working room by room, so a working kitchen, bathroom and bedroom keep power and lighting each evening. It takes a little longer than an empty property and avoids the upheaval of moving out.
Project types
New circuits sized for the actual load, board capacity checked before work starts, and the existing installation tested so you are not connecting new work to a fault you have not found yet.
Complete strip-out and reinstallation. The point at which it is worth doing everything properly, because nothing will be this accessible again for twenty-five years.
Replacing an old fuse box or plastic board with a metal-clad consumer unit on individual RCBOs, so a fault on one circuit no longer puts the whole property in darkness. Tested, labelled and certified.
Recessed downlighters, pendants and wall lights on dimmable LED, with the circuits and switching planned before any holes are cut so the light falls where you need it.
Additional sockets, outside sockets and dedicated circuits for showers, cookers and garden offices, with the existing board checked for spare capacity before anything is added to it.
Armoured supply, its own protective device, correct earthing arrangement, and capacity for what you will actually plug in rather than the one lamp described at quotation stage.
Covering London and Surrey, on site as quickly as we can. You will speak to an electrician, not a call centre.

Common questions
First fix is everything that happens before the walls and ceilings are closed: cabling, back boxes and containment routes. Second fix is everything after decorating: fitting accessories and light fittings, connecting the consumer unit, then testing and certification. Getting first fix right matters most, because mistakes there are expensive to reach later.
Certain work in homes is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, including installing a new circuit, replacing a consumer unit, and any work in a room containing a bath or shower. Because we are NICEIC registered we can self-certify and notify building control on your behalf, which avoids a separate application and its fee.
Regularly. Kitchens, bathrooms, extensions and loft conversions all need first fix before the walls close and second fix once decorating is done. Coming in at the right point in someone else's programme is most of the job, and it is far cheaper than opening finished walls afterwards.
Yes. Outside lighting, garden sockets and supplies to garden offices, sheds and workshops are wired in armoured cable with the correct protection and earthing arrangement for outdoor use. The existing board is checked for capacity first, since an outbuilding supply is a new circuit rather than a spur.
Notifiable installation work is self-certified under our NICEIC registration, so you do not need a separate building control application.
